7 Things that you will Love about the Valenzuela City People’s Park (Part 1 of 2)

Valenzuela City People's Park
Just this Saturday, February 14, the Valenzuela City People’s Park was officially opened to the public. One Valenzuela was among the throngs of Valenzuelanos who came to witness, explore, and celebrate the opening of the 1.3 hectare park.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian graced the opening of the park.
Avid children awaiting at the gate of the park along A. Pablo Street.
More people are eagerly waiting in front of the park which is facing Mac Arthur Highway.
See those smiles? Priceless.
Here are seven things that you will instantly love about the park as One Valenzuela did:

1. The Valenzuela City People’s Park has separate areas for various activities. Another plus is that the whole place looks so classy (or sosyal).
The interactive fountain will astound park guests.
Come and play at the Children's Park.

Dance your way to health at the Aero Circle.

Seniors will be very happy to unwind and walk here.
Grab some food and chow at the Picnic Area with family and friends.
Kuyas play chess with these life size chess pieces at the Seniors' Garden

Zoological spaces in the park: Birds
Hello, Macoy and Pablo! According to an article in the Valenzuela City's Official Website, they were named after Mac Arthur Highway and A. Pablo Street.
Kids look at the fishes in the pond.

2. Free Wi-Fi access at the Valenzuela City People’s Park. Take a selfie and instantly upload it on Facebook. The ValenzuelaCity Facebook Page reminds Valenzuelanos not to forget the hashtag #ExperienceValenzuela!
Wi-Fi Zone at the park.

The Valenzuela City People’s Park is adjacent to the Valenzuela City Hall Complex along Mac Arthur Highway. It is open from Monday to Thursday, 5 a.m. to 12 midnight, and from Friday to Sunday, 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.

7 Things that you will Love about the Valenzuela City People’s Park (Part 2 of 2)

  3. There are many programs and activities lined up for Valenzuelanos. Aerobics and zumba sessions, plays, concerts, and many more!
People at the opening program of the Valenzuela City People’s Park.
   4. The Valenzuela City People’s Park is PWD (Person With Disability) friendly.
Ramps can be seen at various locations in the park.
   5. There were many employees assigned to look after the Valenzuela City People’s Park. Thus, Valenzuelanos are also called on to do their responsibility of taking good care of the park’s facilities. If you love something, you take care of it, right?
Park rangers on human transporters patrol the park.
King and Lance, two kids One Valenzuela met near the picnic area, said that the park was so cool and hope that it stays that way.
  6. The rules and regulations of the Valenzuela City People’s Park are placed in strategic places. And because Valenzuelanos has discipline, let us follow these simple park policies.

  7. Everyone is welcome. One Valenzuela saw kids having fun at the playground (having fun everywhere to be exact!), groups of teenagers munching on some snacks at the picnic tables, men playing chess, couples watching the fountain, and the elderly seating on benches. There were also some who brought their bikes and skateboards. Our canine friends can also stroll at the park too!
One Valenzuela also saw several members of the Valenzuela Pack during the opening ceremonies of the park.
There are a lot more things to admire about the place. Visit the park and you will definitely fall in love with it. See you guys at the park!
Something to look forward to in the future: Valenzuela Town Center

The Valenzuela City People's Park Opens Tomorrow!

The long wait is finally over, Valenzuelanos! The Valenzuela People's Park will be opening tomorrow, February 14, 2015, at 6:00 in the evening.
Early in the first quarter of 2014, she daydreamed and wished that the kids of Malinta Elementary School have a playground that they can visit nearby. One Valenzuela has also been passing by Valenzuela City People's Park when it was still in its construction stage last year, yearning to see it completed soon like every Valenzuelano she knows.

So this is the answer to those wishes. Will be at the opening of the park. Bet it will be a very lovely day. See you at the park! <3

Hungry? Consult Dr. Tapsi at Brgy. Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City

A doctor who owns a tapsilogan? Or somebody who is an expert in cooking tapsilog (brief explanation for the non-Filipino reader: meal consisting of tapa, fried rice, and egg) that s/he is called a doctor? Or is it just pure wordplay? That's what One Valenzuela is thinking of before they headed to Dr. Tapsi one Sunday morning.
Ang tunay na lalake ay laging may extra rice. (A real man always has extra rice.)
Dr. Tapsi is a humble tapsilogan located at  Barangay Veinte Reales, just a brief walk from McArthur Highway. Since One Valenzuela seldom goes to this part of the city, she learned about this 24 hour tapsilogan through several recommendations on Facebook.

What's unique about this place is that they offer tapang kabayo (horse).Check out their "Pangarera" meal.
Valenzuelanos waiting for their orders. Nanay Baby said that the place is busiest in the evening.
Since Dr. Tapsi's Pangarera meal was not available during One Valenzuela's visit, she settled for the Superstar meal which includes the traditional beef tapa. It's good, though she hopes that she could ask for an extra serving (ma-ulam person here). The atsara is a winner too.
Weekend breakfast at Dr. Tapsi. One Valenzuela has to mention that this place has big atsara servings!

Before leaving Dr. Tapsi, One Valenzuela's question on where the tapsilogan got its name was answered. According to Nanay Baby, the name of the place came from Farish's group of sacristan friends. They met a dermatologist who eventually became their comrade too. Well, One Valenzuela is hoping to add more details to this very short account from Farish, the person behind Dr. Tapsi since the story seemed as interesting and unique as having some tapang kabayo for breakfast (or lunch...or dinner).
